  286.         concealed fastening clips.

  288.         The first paragraph is for overhead-braced floor-
  289.         mounted compartments; the second paragraph is for
  290.         floor-mounted compartments; the third paragraph is
  291.         for ceiling-hung compartments.

  293. NOTE ** Floor-mounting requires a concrete floor for
  294.         adequate anchorage.  Ceiling-mounting requires
  295.         steel structure for support.

  297.     B.  Pilaster Anchors:  Inverted stirrup with jack bolt for
  298.         leveling during installation and permanent height
  299.         adjustment, integrally welded to base of pilaster, with

  317.     E.  Urinal Screen Brackets:  Full height 38-inch-long two ear

  348.             adjustable to allow door to rest at any position
  349.             within a 270-degree range; through-bolted.

  360. PART 3  EXECUTION
  361.  
  362. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  363.  
  364.     A.  Verification of Conditions:
  365.         1.  Measure areas to receive compartments; verify area
  366.             dimensions are in accordance with shop drawings.
  367.         2.  Verify built-in framing, anchorage, bracing, and
  368.             plumbing fixtures are in correct location.
  369.  
  370.     B.  Installer's Examination:
  371.         1.  Have installer of this section examine conditions
  372.             under which construction activities of this section
  373.             are to be performed, then submit written notification
  374.             if such conditions are unacceptable.
  375.         2.  Transmit two copies of installer's report to
  376.             Architect within 24 hr of receipt.
  377.         3.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  378.             before unacceptable conditions have been corrected is
  379.             prohibited.
  380.         4.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  381.             indicates installer's acceptance of conditions.
  382.  
  383. 3.2 PREPARATION
  384.  
  385.     A.  Surface Preparation:
  386.         1.  Prepare openings in compartment separation partitions
  387.             for toilet and bath accessories to be installed in
  388.             partitions; marring of partition finish is
  389.             prohibited.
  390.         2.  Locate openings in accordance with shop drawings and
  391.             accessory manufacturer's installation instructions
  392.             and templates.
  393.  
  394. 3.3 INSTALLATION
  395.  
  396.     A.  Install compartments to specified tolerances in
  397.         accordance with shop drawings and manufacturer's printed
  398.         installation instructions.
  399.  
  400.     B.  Attach components to adjacent materials and to other
  401.         components using purpose-designed fastening devices.
  402. NOTE ** Delete one of two paragraphs below.
  403.  
  404.     C.  Adjust pilaster anchors for floor variations; conceal
  405.         anchors with pilaster shoes.
  406.  
  407.     D.  Support pilasters from above ceiling framing using two
  408.         adjustable hanging studs for vertical adjustment to
  409.         level; conceal ceiling fastenings with pilaster shoes.
  410. NOTE ** All of the remaining provisions apply to all of the
  411.         types of compartments in this section.
  412.  
  413.     E.  Equip each compartment door with top and bottom hinges,
  414.         and door latch.
  415.  
  416.     F.  Install door strike keeper on pilasters in alignment with
  417.         door latch.
  418.  
  419.     G.  Equip each compartment door with one coat hook and
  420.         bumper.
  421.  
  422.     H.  Installation Tolerances:
  423.         1.  Maximum variation from plumb or level:  1/8 inch.
  424.         2.  Maximum displacement from indicated position:  1/8
  425.             inch.
  426.         3.  Clearance between wall surface and panels or
  427.             pilasters:  1-1/2 inch, maximum.

  429. 3.4 ADJUSTING
  430.  
  431.     A.  Adjust door hardware for uniform clearance between doors
  432.         and pilasters.
  433.  
  434.     B.  Adjust door hinges to attain free movement, to locate
  435.         in-swinging doors in partial open position when
  436.         unlatched; and to return out-swinging doors to closed
  437.         position.
  438.  
  439.     C.  Adjust door hardware to align door strike keeper on each
  440.         pilaster with door latch.
  441.  
  442. 3.5 PROTECTION OF INSTALLED PRODUCTS
  443.  
  444.     A.  Prevent damage to product finishes by subsequent
  445.         construction activities.
  446.  
  447.     B.  Repair damaged finishes; replace components having
  448.         damaged finish if repair is not possible.
  449.  
  450.     C.  Remove factory protective coverings and clean finish
  451.         surfaces in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
  452.         before final inspection.

  454. 3.6 SCHEDULE
  455. NOTE ** If more than one type of partition, or more than
